...a watchful eye in a dynamic world.
here now in sihanoukville for the trip tomorrow morning to the island named kirisakor to do our routine monitoring of the activities at the health facility there, i thought of going around the vicinity and of course, took photos in the process...
as i was doing this, i was constantly nagged by the thought that it is dangerous, what with the news of people being mugged and valuables taken away -- my enthusiasm in taking photos prevailed... it was only when i was entering the gates of hotel we were staying at for the night that i noticed my colleague. i was oblivious of his presence as i walked around taking shots. he was there to watch / guard me. it was such a very endearing gesture. rithy, thank you for that...
valentine's day 2009: michelle and i set a dinner date a week before... on this day, we still haven't thought of the place... at lunch time, we had two choices -- a sea food place (Ocean) or a place serving french cuisine (Van's)... we chose the latter -- deciding factor -- it was housed in a 150 year old french colonial building... we forgot to make a reservation but two hours before dinner, fortunately, we still were able to acquire a reservation and a special table for two...
dinner was truly memorable and food was so good -- we were serenaded too (the song: anak - hehehe).
after dinner, we joined our friends who were at intercon qba for the band music.

a nice refuge after a hard day's work... a mountain lodge.
this place is located along the way going to sihanoukville at road 4, approx. 5 kms before the intersection going inside koh kong.
bungalows are scattered on the mountain slope and can be rented for 15 usd (standard rates of hotel prices in the area). one can enjoy the vista of a mountain range and a spot of sparkling river at the horizon. at night time - the cool wind blows down the mountain and sometimes it makes a howling sound giving one a sense of comfort being in a sturdy well structured abode.
i enjoy just sitting at the veranda and do my work or sometimes just immerse myself in the relaxing environment.
